Guide to Carriers and Shipping Services

Ruby Has Shipping Services and Guidelines

  • Attached – Please note to use this service when you are attaching your own shipping label. If a service is listed the order will process a new label with that service and not your assigned label.

UPS Services

  • UPS Mail Innovations – Hybrid service. UPS picks up package and is transferred to USPS for final delivery. Less than 1lb. Billed based on weight of package. Please note in the future USPS will be moving to zone pricing. No volumetric charges however there is a max size limitation. No signature or insurance is supported with this service. Average 3-7 transit time. Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska are not recommended for this service as transit time can take weeks. Only supports 1 package per shipment.
  • UPS SurePost - Hybrid service. UPS picks up package and is transferred to USPS for final delivery. Between 1lb and 9lbs and volumetric carton size less than 1 cubic foot. (lxwxh/1728) Billed based on weight of package. Please note in the future USPS will be moving to zone pricing. No signature or insurance is supported with this service. Average 3-7 transit time. Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska are not recommended for this service as transit time can take weeks. Only supports 1 package per shipment.
  • UPS Ground – Can be used for packages 1lb – 150 lbs. Surcharges apply for oversized items as well as heavy shipments. Transit times are 1-6 days based on distance. The dim factor is 225. Signature and insurance are supported. Can be used for multiple packages. Ships to Alaska and Hawaii.
  • UPS Mail Innovations Intl – The most cost effective shipping service for packages under 4lbs. No volume charges. Only recommended to use for supportive countries. Please contact Ruby Has for supportive country list. Also, a hybrid service. UPS will pick and deliver to destination country and the local post office would make the final delivery.
  • UPS Next Day Air Saver – Expedited air shipment to guarantee delivery by next business end of day. Not available in all zip codes.
  • UPS Next Day Air – Expedited air shipment to guarantee delivery typically by 10:30 a.m. local time. Dim factor of 166. Other value added options are similar to UPS Ground services. Supports Saturday delivery upon request for shipments processed on Friday.
  • UPS Next Day Early A.M. - Expedited air shipment to guarantee delivery by 8:30 a.m. local time. Restricted to certain locations time constraints. 
  • UPS 2nd Day Air – Expedited air shipment to guarantee delivery by 2 nd business day. Services are similar to other air services.
  • UPS 3-Day Select - Expedited air shipment to guarantee delivery by 3rd business day. Services are similar to other air services. Does not deliver to Hawaii or Alaska.
  • * UPS services do not deliver to PO Boxes, Military bases(APO/FPO/DPO) or U.S Territories *

DHL Services

  • DHL Express Worldwide – Preferred carrier for international shipments. Signature is included. Dim factor of 139. Billable weight is determined by which value is greater, the dimensional weight or the actual weight of the shipment. Customs can affect transit times.
  • DHL Express Worldwide DDP – Duties are prepaid, which is charged to Ruby Has and then billed to client on invoice. Same services apply as above.
  • DHL Metro Same Day (discontinued by DHL June 13, 2019) – Domestic service. Daily business day cut off is 10:30 a.m. est. Only supported to specific zip codes within the DHL delivery area. Delivery by 9p.m the latest. 1 package per shipment. Max weight is 25 lbs. Max dims 1.5 cube.
  • DHL Metro Next Day (discontinued by DHL June 13, 2019) – Domestic service. For outbound shipments pick up is at 12pm noon. This service is applicable for early shipments. Due to early pick up times to be delivered the next day applicable orders must be created before 10:30 a.m.

USPS Services

  • USPS First Class Package – 2-5 day transit time. Under 1lb. Can ship to Po Boxes, Military bases and U.S territories. Shipping cost is based on distance. More costly than UPSMI.
  • USPS Media Mail – Same services as listed above, however can only ship Media products such as books, papers etc.
  • USPS Priority Mail – Expedited service, average delivery time is 1-3 days. 70 lbs maximum weight limit. Maximum girth of 108 inches. (F= L+2xH+2xW)
  • USPS Priority Mail Express – Expiated services. Average delivery time 1-2 days. 70 lbs maximum weight limit. Maximum girth of 108 inches. (F= L+2xH+2xW)
  • USPS Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope – Similar to priority mail. Flat rate, as long as package fits into flat rate envelope. Dimensions 12 1/2" x 9 1/2"
  • USPS First Class Package Intl – Max weight 4lbs. Delivery time is not guaranteed, can take 7-20 days.
  • USPS Priority Mail Intl – Expedited services. Typical delivery is 6-10 business days.

FedEx Service

  • FedEx One Rate – Second day air services. Only applicable to smaller items max dimension. 10¼" x 12¾", 12" x 15"
